Davis Drive Middle School Statements
Mission Statement
The mission of Davis Drive Middle School is to foster a community of lifelong learners who can effectively manage future challenges.
Vision Statement
Based on the needs of the developing early adolescent, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community will work together to make Davis Drive Middle School a safe, nurturing and exciting place to learn while also enabling students to become lifelong learners. All staff recognizes that the early adolescent, in a middle school setting, has specific and unique needs that are not only cognitive, but also social, emotional, and physical.
Teachers work in teams to better facilitate and maximize creative instructional processes. A variety of instructional and flexible scheduling methods are incorporated to help encourage problem solving, critical thinking, and cognitive matching and growth in all core subjects and electives. Stimulating learning material, technological tools and equipment accommodate a variety of instructional needs and learning styles. Students experience challenging educational opportunities.
Students choose positive behavior, recognizing that poor choices result in consistent and fair consequences by teachers and administrators. Parents accept responsibility for these choices, support staff and student decisions, and invest in their child’s growth and maturity.
Students are proud of the school facility and are actively involved in a cooperative effort with staff and parents to maintain an attractive, clean, and orderly campus. Both students and staff demonstrate ownership and pride in their school through regular attendance, mutual respect, and enthusiastic participation in the total school program.
